More info on the featured speaker and your facilitator:
Luci Englert McKean – TEDxBloomington Curator
Luci Englert McKean is, like all of us, a complex human. She’s a maker of things and connections, an artist and activist, explorer of spirit + meaning + identity + collaboration. As licensee for TEDxBloomington, she is responsible for a huge team of volunteers following all of TED’s rules for the conference. As TEDxBloomington curator and speaker coach, she selects and coaches all the speakers, and writes the “run-of-show,” the order of events so one talk flows into the next.
By day, she is the Assistant Director of Operations for the National School Reform Faculty, helping connect educators worldwide with tools such as we use in Coltrain Group, for which she also acts as a consultant. She moonlights as a speaking/presentation coach, a marketing consultant and copywriter. In her “spare” volunteer time, she’s a setup crew chief for the Lotus World Music and Arts Festival. And oh yeah, she also answers to “Mom,” “Mrs. McKean,” and “Hey, you!”.
A professional communicator, Luci has held about every job title one can have in journalism and advertising: creative director in direct marketing, copywriter and media buyer in an ad agency, book ghostwriter and editor, author of articles and protocols, minimalist graphic designer, website architect, freelance magazine writer, daily newspaper reporter, radio announcer and newscaster, public relations and marketing director, podcaster and blogger.
